BELL WITCH FANSITE GUESTBOOK ENTRIES:

Subject: Hello! From Indy

My name is Denise and I am from Indianapolis, In. I enjoyed reading about your experience. THey say everything happens for a reason. So maybe your purpose was to find aout about the bell witch and start a web site. My first learning og the Bell witch I was in grade school. My mom had a Haunted Story book, and the most itntresting excerpt i read was on the Bell witch story. I am currently in a home college course for writing for children and teens. Paranormal and scary stories are definetly my thing. My mother passed away six years ago. When living at home after she passed i felt her presence. I would sometimes cry missing my mom, so one night when I had went to bed I felt pressure on my bed like somebody sitting behind me. I was layong on my side facing away from my bedroom door and my door was shut because my 6 month old baby was sleeping in her crib. I then felt a hand moving down the back of my head, like stroking my hair. my heart jumped up into my chest and I jumped up. I knew it had to have been my mother. Since then I have been active in reading ghost stories, web sites on ghosts, and even on how to hunt for them. I just recently go a digital recorder and I want to try some evps. Hopefully, if you get the courage to go again you may experience much more. Good luck to you guys!!

Subject: Hello
I was reading different Urban Legends today, and I stumbled across the familiar Bell Witch legend. I'm from Hopkinsville Kentucky, which is probably about 50 miles from Adams, up I-24 West. We used to hear the story of the Bell Witch every year when I was in Elementary school. I've never stopped when driving through there, but I've always had this feeling of dread. So I make sure to never stop. It's a truly creepy place.

Subject: I saw the movie

I am from Shelbyville, Tn...never been to Adams. But I grew up always knowing about the Bell Witch. We'd also get in front of mirrors and "call Bell Witch". Some pretty strange things happened but nothing I could say without a doubt was Bell Witch. However, just the feeling you get by talking about her gives me the willies! I am a reporter for the paper here and actually got to attend The Bell Witch Movie premiere. LOVED the music and I have an interview coming up with Valerie Smith of Valerie Smith and the Liberty Pike group. They were awesome! The premiere was fun. Bell descendents walked around wearing green bells pinned to their shirts. I didn't talk to any of them and wish I had now. Betsy Palmer seemed fun-loving and down to earth. She pulled up to the red carpet in a "driverless carriage". Ok, you could tell the driver was hiding! She later spoke about beig a "scream queen". Producer - Doris Marr was extremely nice and helpful to me even though you could tell she was being pulled in a million places at once. , all in all I do recommend a viewing and I will definitely be buying the soundtrack and can't wait to hear Betsy's voice at the end! I do want to add that while waiting to enter the Ryman... one lady
passed out. Another thing I have not mentioned to anyone else, is that while
waiting I felt an evil chill pass over me....

Hey,

I just recently heard about the bell witch on a church mission trip in Kentucky. I met two girls on the trip that are members of the bell familyand they told a whole lot of crazy stuff... and i was searching the web to see if they were bull shitting me and found you guys. One thing that one of them told me was that occasionally things will happen like the radio will turn all the way up in the car, they turn it down and hold the dial and it still goes up by itself. Also their grandpa was in a coma for ayear because of a crazy, unnatural, horse riding accident that one of them witnessed. I was planning on visiting those girls and seeing what is up with this whole bell witch but after reading what happened to you guys
i am having second thoughts. email me back at

Subject: My Story

Hello,
My father is from Adams the thing is he told us (my sister and I)only one story about his experience while growing up there and why the family moved away, when I say family I mean the whole clan, everybody. Listen I know this sounds a little corny, but trust me the story he told us is as crazy and and even I have a hard time believing it. Here's the thing up until a year ago I thought my family was from Wytheville,Va and that's where my sister and I were told my dad grew up but it was not true. I'm 47 years old and my sister is 52 so here is the deal we were told by my father a week prior to his passing away that our kin is from Adams and the close surrounding area, and that the majority of our relatives moved away from there back in 1872. My fathers family stayed in Adams until his father moved the family to Wytheville in 1932 after my dad nearly died of a illness that doctors at the time seemed clueless to be able to explain. As my sister and I found out all this we were feeling a little clueless on why we were basically lied to by our parents on my dads past and our family history. My mothers people are from Wytheville, as a matter of fact her family is the original founding family of the town. My mothers family name is Mcormick check the name out if you like and the history of her family. My fathers explanation to my sister and I to him was simple we were never told so as to keep us safe from harm. Our family apparently has a what I could best describe as a curse on it that is supposedly plagues all offspring of his family including any of his offspring. Okay, corny, yes I agree but it is the truth as per my late father, he truly believed it, this my sister and are certain. Listen, I'm retired from the Marine Corps and I'm a what people would describe as a fairly tough SOB. So the story my father told us did I must admit shake me up little bit about how a women cursed our family back in the early 1800's over a land deal that went bad in Adams, TN and how it still affects our family today. I never heard of the bell witch up until my fathers story about her and how she came to him one night in august when he was a kid and told him he was going to die if he stayed there in the house, of course he told my grand parents of this incident and that's when he was told of the families curse, dad told us on how he would find welts and bruises when he would wake up in the morning and that often when that would happen the sheets of the bed linen would be lying on the floor, there were a few other things he told my sister and I about what happened to him but I would rather just not talk about it. I never knew my father to lie or to be a fibber and why did he wait until he was sick to tell us. My dad was a strong man he still hunted and fished in the mountains around Wytheville,Va up until the week of his illness and passing away. He told us that he never wanted my sister or I to ever go to Adams and never take our kids there ever! this is when I truly found myself getting a littled uneasy, because some of things that dad talked to my sister and I about has taken place with her and I, small things but yet they still happened. I will give one and only one example of what similar events have taken place to myself and my sister, it has to do with seeing a mangy old black dog, the thing is that I have seen this same animal several times in my life, the first time with my sister when we were kids and we were fishing at Pulaski lake in VA. My sister has seen this same dog several times herself, the odd thing about this is we both have seen this dog after each of our children were born. Of course I never said anything to her about this incidents nor did she say anything to me about it, not until dad told us his story did she and I discuss it. I will be honest with you I am still not sure myself if it is the same dog but there is some strangely odd similarities to this animal so who knows, one thing though my sister lives in California and has so for twenty five years and I currently live in North Carolina in which I have for about twelve years. Like I said at the beginning of this letter who knows about this witch thing, do I believe? I don't really know for sure but after the incident with my father as boy and the family moving from Adams and not telling my sister and I about it and until a week before he passed away, it truly has made me think hard about it, it did get me onto the road of doing research about Adams and its history and my families true history. I'll be honest, I was reluctant to write this on your site but maybe somebody from Adams might see it and email me with more info. My email is---------- please only serious emails please no junk.

Thankyou,
Charles

Subject: Bell Witch for Children

grew up in and around Nashville, TN. My grandparents use to tell me stories all the time about the Bell Witch and I even did a book report on her in 3rd grade. My cousins and I were always getting into mischief, so my grandparents would try to scare us half to death by telling us that if we were bad the Bell Witch would kill us. My cousins and I played this one game late at night, where we would go into the bathroom with all the lights off and turn around three times saying "I believe in the Bell Witch" and waiting for her to show up. It was said that she would scratch your eyes out if you looked at her. Needless to say she never did show up or scratch our eyes out, but that never stopped us from playing the game. One Halloween we even all dressed up as witches, saying that we were indeed the Bell Witch.

When I was about 16, my cousins and I decided that we would drive to Adams just to see the place for ourselves. Once we got there we tried to walk across the Bell Bridge, because everyone said you could hear/see the Bell Witch if you did this. Well we got about 1/4th of the way across before the wind starts blowing and we all freaked out and ran back to the car. We honestly don't know why the wind started blowing, other than pure science, but it definitely reaffirmed our belief that the Bell Witch does in fact exist.

Ironically, to this day, the idea of the Bell Witch scares me silly. I think that the Bell story is one of tremendous importance in my childhood because it seemed that everything we focused on that was scary revolved around the Bell Witch. I think that it is so great that you all have discovered her and her story. It makes a very cool part of Tennessee be shown to the rest of the world.

Thanks,
Sarah

Hello there! I wanted to thank you for such a wonderful site. It is simply the most informative site on the net.
I have been fascinated by the bell witch for a long time. I live in Atlanta and drive through Tennessee quite often but have never been to Adams. I hope to go there someday.. What happened to you after your visit to Adams is spooky. It sounds like the Bell Witch wanted you to remember your visit. I will keep an eye on here for any additions you may make. Keep up the good work.

Subject: The Bell Witch

t is so cool that you guys have this web site! I am related to the Bell family and have heard stories from my mother and her side of the family. I heard from my family that the Bell witch at a time was in love with John. He decided to marry someone else and that the Bell witch( whomever she was before she killed herself) in despair killed herself. On John Bell's wedding day she showed up in his wife's bridal room and told her that she would haunt them until the day they died. That was the explaination I got about the hauntings. They told me that the legacy is, that the Bell witch haunts only the male members of the family. My mother told me that her father and 3 of my uncle's have had the same dream of a woman poking them with sticks. I believe this is directly related to the Bell Witch, and that is raises the question of how powerful she still is. I read different stories about her, and have heard about Andrew Jackson looking down into the well on his horse and hearing a woman speak. The stories all seem very consistent with my families.

bad sense of foreboding is all i can tell you what happened to me when i visited that place as a young child...about 11. it seemed that the trees had voices and the walls had ears. i don't care what anyone says...that town harbors a deadly secret. if you are still having problems from this spirit...get cleansed by a priest....it may be your only option to have a peaceful night...and one more thing...don't ever go to the cave after dark

Hi! I really enjoyed reading and surfing on your website. I stumbled across the Bell Witch just within the last couple of weeks. I was surfing on Castle of Spirits site (a ghost story site) and I think that was where a link to a Bell Witch site was. I had never heard of it before. I live in Arkansas and was a little surprised because I've
heard about various haunts in neighboring states and around the south.

When does the Bell Witch movie come out? I think your story of your friend being sick and the bed sheets being pulled off were really weird. It was like the Bell family stuff. Has anything else happened since then?
One interesting bit of worthless trivia. I work in an office where an intern who grew up in Nashville, Tennessee worked this spring. She had heard of it and said that as a child people would say things like "You'd better mind or the Bell Witch will get you!" She had never been to Adams but was familiar with the tale.

Thanks for providing a cool website,
Mike

You guys gonna visit Adams again?

I grew up in the area and saw some freaky stuff when I used to hang out there 15 to 20 years ago. I could tell you some stories. I hung out with a guy who's family lived in one of the last homes occupied by the Bell's on the original land. I knew several relatives of the Bell's and there was always something sppoky happening.

There was the "black void" hovering over a friend of ours one night when we were out with a bunch of other kids at the burned out foundation of one of the Bell homes. Scared the piss out of several of us, including Jeff and Tracy Smothers who were 2 huge guys. We high-tailed it back to the truck, only to find a log (that wasn't there before) across the dirt road.

There was the mangy black dog that Mr. Mantooth (principal of Jo Byrns School) had hanging around his house; ended up taking it off to the woods and shot it, only to have it show up the next day.

When there was an old gravel road passing through from Johnson Springs Rd. that was part of Bell Crossroads. It's grown over by pasture grass now. They fenced off the cemetary in the 80's and you can't drive through there anymore. Once we passed through in my friends old Buick (non-power windows) and one of the windows flew down. We were also riding motor bikes one day, just off the old gravel road near one of the Bell gravesites and saw this nastly little black dog. We got kinda spooked and tore out toward Johnson Springs Rd. only to find the nasty little black dog staring at us as we passed about a half mile later.

There were the footsteps and creaking stairs with noone there at the house on Johnson Springs Rd. that my friend lived in. There was also a rocking chair that rocked on its own sometimes.

There used to be at the corner of the old gravel Bell Crossroads and Johnson Springs a huge gnarly old tree that had been struck by lightning who knows how many times before it was finally cut down. Was reputedly used as a 'hanging tree' back in the days of George Augustine Washington (George Washington's 2nd cousin) who owned Wessyngton Plantation in the 1700's.

Bim Eden used to own the property that the Bell Witch Cave is on. We used to camp out there, and on the Bell land off of Johnson Springs. Saw some fairly inexplicable, quirky things happen.

I knew the people who used to own the Bell School and 'Bell Witch Opry' (little folksy radio show) back then. There were some strange things that happened at that place, too.

There's always the stuff you read about Andrew Jackson, the caramel colered rabbit, the girl in the green gingham dress and such. You know, the usual legend stuff, but there are some really spooky things that go on still. As a matter of fact, I'm on the road in NC at the moment and am getting a bit creeped out writing this email.

As far as the local old folk not wanting to be forthcoming about Ol' Kate, if you lived around here, you'd understand. It's kinda "Castle Rockish" in that they figure they have to live with her after you leave and, just to be on the safe side, they don't want to stir up any unnecessary feces.

You know, when the Blair Witch Project came out (understanding, of course, that it was totally contrived) there were some spooky images that brought back memories of Adams in the fall.

What experiences have you guys had since leaving?

Hi,
My name’s Holly and I live in Louisville, Kentucky. Before you ask, yes, I wear shoes, much like your ‘friends’ in Adams, TN.

Though I live and grew up in Louisville, I went to college in Murray, KY- not too far a scant from Adams. I had grown up hearing bits and pieces of the Bell Witch legend, and finally I found a piece of literature that settled the whole thing once and for all with me. Now, I have always been an enthusiast of the paranormal, and I have plenty of stories and research to back up the claim ( I study anthropology), and I want you to know that. Also, just because I do believe in many ‘strange’ or unexplained things does NOT mean that I believe in everything I come across.

What I wanted you to know was that there is a very interesting document that was found in the attic of a woman in Ohio (I believe). The contents were written by the husband of the daughter of John and Lucy Bell. The daughter’s name was Elizabeth, but she was known as Betsy, her husband was Richard Powell, and he left a very scientific, detailed account of what happened to the Bell family. He, being Betsy’s schoolmaster, and living off the land that the family had donated as the school, fell deeply in love with the girl and happened to be there before the presence was known, during and after John’s death. The papers are compiled by author Brent Monahan. Please check out this work, and if you get a chance, let me know what you think. It really does explain EVERYTHING.

Also, if you would like to hear about some of our Kentucky haunts, let me know. ‘Kentucky” is a native term meaning ‘dark and bloody ground’, and there is reason, I believe for it.

Take care,
Holly

Loved the whole story about you guys' adventure in stumbling across Adams and the story of the Bell Witch. As a child I remember reading about the Bell Witch and when I was in college a friend of mine dated a girl from Clarksville. On a visit one time we stumbled into the area of the Bell Witch, but didn't do any sight seeing. My interest was resparked by the recent "Novel of the Bell Witch" which was fascinating as well. It pretty much parallels the story except for the fact that the Bates woman is still alive in this "Novel" and it hints at John Sr. taking improper liberties with Becky.

I'm planning on bringing my son up there in August during a visit to my brother's house who lives less than 20 miles from Adams. I don't have 5 hours to find the site of the old home place. Any advice on finding it quickly so we can say we went there? Also expecting the cave to be open as well.
Thanks for a wonderful internet site.

hey,my name is jake i live in clarksville,tn about 30 minutes from adams. My friends had told me of some ghost stories about "ghosthunting" trips they had been on in the past. I thought it was all b.s. untill one day i decided to go with them. We went to three or four spots that they had been to before and expierenced paranormal things. They took me to a mill where supposedly they had dropped a cigarrete into the water and once it hit the water a couple seconds later the cherry grew brighter and a puff of smoke came out. We went and the bridge or mill had been taken down . We walked around a little and it was uneventful. Later we went to an old cemetary no one ever visits and stood inside a rock fence built into a 10 by 25 foot or so rectangle where a dozen bodies are buried . they had told me stories of how it had gotten cold once you steped but i was skeptical. i stepped inside and there was nothing unusual going on the temperature was still warm and muggy. Finally we went to a small old and abandoned house that is about 3/4 of a mile deep into the woods. we walked the trail from the highway to this house and once we entered we talked of how it looked creepy and we talked of bringing someone out there and setting them up. nonethe less we didn`t see anything interesting . we back downstairs and my friend jon saw some writing on the wall so we tricked into enthusiasm because it just turned out to be just signatures of a couple people that had been there. So we decided to leave something for the next group of kids that came to the house. Jon is an artist so he started drawing a wicked looking face on the wall with a pentagram on the forehead. He took out his knife and started carving into the face trying to make it look even meaner. Just as all this was happening tyler started hearing noises outside like something was moving around in the tall grass. i dismissed all this because he was the one that fed me the b.s. ghost stories. Jon stopped carving for a moment and i heard the same noises coming from outside but out the winow frame in front of me as opposed to the open door frame behind me. Eddie ( the fourth and final member of this adventure) did not hear this and neither did jon. I start to lose my skepticism as jon started burning holes in the eyes of this wicked creature. We shut off the flashlight to make sure the flame was not burning still and just as we did all four of us heard two louds stomps coming from directly above us upstairs. We all start to freak and eddie and tyler are ready to leave but i say " let`s make things more fun, lets go up there" . Jon says "i`m right behind you" so i grabbed the flashlight and headed up this small winding staircase with steps only big enough to fit half of your foot on. i made it up to the top floor and with great relief i saw nothing that resembled a ghost. Jon is still standing in the staircase when i heard him gasp and make a sharp head turn toward his legs . i pause and looked at him as he yelled for eddied to quit. I looked around in the second room ,saw nothing, and as soon as i turned to head down the staircase jon flinched and picked his feet up and climbed a couple more steps further upstairs. he said something had brushed up against his leg twice. as he tells me this i can hear eddie and tyler talking downstairs at the other side of the house oblivius to what we were up to. i knew he was sincere because i saw the look on his face when it happened. We headed back down the staircase with all intentions of getting out of that house as fast as possible . As i made it down to the bottom floor i felt a serious temperature drop we all confirmed to eachother that it was no breeze and that we could all feel the cold. We were petrified for a moment and ran in circles looking for the best doorway to exit this house. Finally we made it out and ran a good 75 yards down the path untill we felt we were safe. We made it to the truck and went over each account of what had happened in the house and we all agreed that it was something paranormal. By 2:30 that night we were back in clarksville at a family owned resaurant named kelly`s.The mood was much more relaxed and it seemed the thrill and shock had faded. We could all agree on one thing and that is that none of us had an answer for what went on. Anyway thats my story and it really has nothing to do with the bell witch i don`t believe becaus ethis all occured about 35 40 miles from the bell witch cave. But i really was writing to you because we are doing a little research on the bell witch and today we did a little recon of the bell witch area but we didn`t even think to look on that pillar to look for directions to the john bell gravesite and old house foundation. i was hoping, since you seem to have had trouble making it there, that you could give us some tips on what we should look for as far as landmarks go. can you convert rods to yards for me possibly. maybe be there is more you could tell me about what happened. i would appreciate any info that would help us out on this next ghosthunting adventure . with some help i will be sure to update you on how it goes if we made it back
your pal

Hey Jonathan, my name is Matt,im 17 and i live in Indian Mound TN, and i was lookin at your Bell Witch site, and i was wanting to know if you heard anything about the cave rocks. I heard something like if you take a rock from the cave, then the witch will get you, well me being a dumb ass, me and my family went to the Bell Witch Cave and i stole a rock and two coins that were in a well. and ive had bad luck ever since and the longer i have it the more worse things get. First my mom got sick, then my girlfriend suddenly becomes pregnant, i cut my foot on a aluminum can that i stepped on in the yard, and i needed 4 stitches, and when i stole the rock and coins from the cave, i put them in my left sock, and the items slid down my sock to the bottom of my foot, exactly the spot where i was cut, no bulls*$t. But it gets worse, for the past 2 nights i have been hearing really deep growling sounds in my front yard, my dog barks at it but when i let my dog outside, it runs back in the house! I'm sending the items back to the owners of the cave tomorrow. I know it sounds fake what i stated above, but i swear its all true.

Hey there!
My grandmother grew up in Adam's playing with her brothers in the bell witch cave. My sister, cousins and I grew up listening to stories about the bell witch. It was one of our favorite stories when the lights went out from storms. I think I have about every book written on the subject since the Bell's are very distant relatives. Our family has always laughed and blamed the bell witch whenever anything strange happens in the house or anything is missing. I think it's great that you have this sight. My sister and I hope to come down to the festival this fall. Hope to see a lot of other "fans" there.

Hi there! First off, let me tell you what a great sight you have here... I was shocked to find that the Bell Witch has become so well known! Anyways, my name is Steve and I'm from Franklin Tennessee. My family history dates back to the Bell Witch days, and I've grown up on stories of Kate's actions. I went to Japan 3 years ago and started going to "Shin-rei" spots... basically Ghost Hunting... I became obcessed with this hobby... now that I've recently returned to the US, I thought I would tackle a local legend! I've been reading up on the bell Witch story and the Adams/Robertson County area and I think we're ready for our 1st trip... what I need to know is, how accessable is the Bell Family Homestead? I want to be able to go to and from it easly... is it on a road? Or do we have to walk a trail? I've got my camera equipment, sound recorder (with special shot-gun mike) and a pretty good back ground in Japan to help me out here!! (Does being blessed by a Shinto priest protect you from American ghosts?) Well, wish me luck, and keep up the good work guys... I'll let you know how our adventure turns out.

I live in Arkansas, and my best friend is a direct desendant of John Bell. She has had many visits from the Bell "witch" here in Arkansas, so it torments members of the Bell family elsewhere also. The things that have happened to my friend (two while I was there) are so frightening that I believe that it is a demon. There is NOTHING friendly about this demon!

I have a very good friend that is directly related to the John Bell in your story. The "witch" (I think it is a demon) has manifested itself to torment my friend and her family many times, here in Arkansas. I was there on 2 occasions, and it is truly terrifying. I admit that this subject is fascinating, but it is also one of the most frightening experiences that you can go through. I am not talking about just seeing things, evil is done by this witch. It will be interesting to see how the movie portrays the Bell witch.

Hey guys,
My husband and I are making the Adams, TN trip in a couple of weeks. We live in Bowling Green, Ky and all my childhood, my sister and I played games about the Bell Witch. I went to Barnes N Noble yesterday and feeling nostalgic picked up " The Little Prince" to read to my son and in the fiction section ran across Brent Monahan's " The Bell Witch, An American Haunting." This prompted me and my husband to get on the internet to find out where Adams, Tn is. My Father's family is from Todd County, which is close to Guthrie, which is close to Adams. So, I was very surprised to find out we are probably 60-90 minutes away from John Bell's homestead. Just to let you know, right outside Elkton, KY in Todd County there is an old farm house with some sort of cellar off to the side of the house( we spotted it driving to Gant Cemetery after my Uncle died and we were off to the burial) anyway, it looks just like the house from "Jeepers Creepers". It scared the shit out of us. Anyway, we might stay in a bed and breakfast in Russellville, KY, there is an old haunted house, located beside a cemetery, which has lots of history (painted upstairs windows to keep the image of a dead girl from coming through at night during storms) You guys were surrounded by it!!!!
Wish us luck, hopefully the cave will be open and even though we don't have anything as cool as the "Shark", the family mini van should do just fine.

Hello there! I really like your site. I am from Memphis, TN, and have been an avid follower of the Bell Witch Legend my whole life. When we were kids, we would do this thing at slumber parties, where you would go by yourself into the bathroom, look in the mirror, and say "I hate the Bell Witch" or "I love the Bell Witch" three times. I know it sounds a lot like the Bloody Mary stuff, or Candyman, even, but that was our version. I know really strange things would happen after saying you loved the Bell Witch (I was always too chicken to do it), like finding black roses all over the place, but I never knew anyone to say they hated her. I heard of one girl who woke up the next day with scratches all over her, but I didn't see it, so who knows? That stuff about "The Bell Witch will get you" and that sort of thing is absolutely true. Adults use the Bell Witch to keep kids in line, and so many old-timers know about it that it is hard to disbelieve. I am glad you liked Tennessee, and I hope you get to visit often. :)

Hey guys,

I really enjoyed reading what you put on your website. My Parents stay in Clarksville, TN, not too far from Adams. I had heard of the Bell Witch long before it was ever popular, which I guess you could say was long before there was an internet. My brother and I are somewhat like you and your friend...That is...We enjoy doing a little ghosthunting when we get together. I first went to Adams about two years ago, and I've been back several times since. I've been to the cave, and have met the owners...Real nice folks. We have also made a trip into Adams in the wee hours of the morning...Remember that road that goes to the right in Adams?...it looks like a bunch of old buildings side by side...You would think it would be Main St. or something, but it just deadends. We took tape recorders to try and catch EVPs, and a digital camera to snap some pics. I'll have to send them to you sometime, but the quality isn't that great since it was dark outside. I've never had anything creepy happen when I was there...But I have to say...there was just an uneasy feeling about being there. I sort of felt bad knowing what the Bell family went through...and then to know I was in the exact same place all these years later...Looking at the sights just for the fun of it. We ran into the same thing as far as the townsfolk are concerned...No one wanting to talk about it. I understand there are still some Bell descendants living in Adams, and even these days they don't like discussing what happened all those years ago. I had heard it was because the witch was supposed to have returned after a certain number of years, but never did...I guess they think if they pursue the matter, old Kate might come back for what's left of them.
There is one other interesting tidbit...My brother and I, on one occasion, notice a small wooden church on the left as you leave Adams...There was no one around, and although I know we could have been arrested if we were caught...We sorta went and snooped around it. You wouldn't believe what was inside...It was no ordinary church..I know it was no Christian church anyhow...As we walked in...Keep in mind it's about 2 a.m., all the walls were painted black...there was a huge upside down cross behind the altar...and there were all sorts of symbols hanging on the walls...It was a satanic church, but the outside looked as if it could have been on Little House on the Prarie. I don't know...I think there are alot of thing that people are well aware of in that town...They just don't talk about it...I think they're afraid to...
I just wanted to give you my little experience of the times I was there. Did you hear they are making a movie about it now? Yep...www.bellwitchthemovie.com
Check it out...

Take care guys,

Doug
